Basic Avian Techniques - Wet Lab

  • Leader:  McRuer (assisted by other conference speakers and MASAAV Executive Board to provide an instructor to student ratio of 1 to 5 or better)

  • Gavage Feeding
  • Intubation - Tracheal
  • Bandaging
    • Pelvic Limb

This wet lab is included at no-additional-fee for technicians registered for the Sunday-only program.

Other attendees require additional fee of $150.

Coelom and Liver Endoscopy - Wet Lab

  • Instructors: Wade, Orosz, Dahlhausen, Brown (assisted by other conference speakers and MASAAV Executive Board to provide an instructor to student ration of 1 to 5 or better).
  • Bring the following surgery instruments for use in the lab if you have them
    • Scrubs/smock
    • Needle holders (miniaturized, small or microsurgery)
    • Atraumatic tissue forces (miniaturized, small or microsurgery)
    • Iris scissors (also microsurgical scissors)

  • Subjects to be covered
    • Indications for Endoscopy
    • Midline Approach
    • Pre-anesthetic Preparation
    • Surgical Positioning and Prep
    • Additional Complications

This wet lab requires additional fee of $250.
